Reset: Belmont World Film’s Family Festival Movies Moves To Saturday, Jan. 27

See the New England premieres of two award-winning international films for children, from China and Serbia, at Belmont World Film’s Family Festival taking place at the West Newton Cinema (1296 Washington St.) on Saturday, Jan. 27 (both have been rescheduled due to cancellation from this past weekend’s storm). Both films also feature English subtitles that will be read aloud through headphones for young readers.

The Chinese film BALLAD FROM TIBET will screen at noon. The Cultural Office of the Consulate General of China is sponsoring the New England premiere of this film, which is based on a true story about four students at a school for the blind in the Tibetan Himalayas of China who walk to Shenzhen to perform on a reality TV talent show. The Serbian film THE WITCH HUNTERS will screen at 2 p.m. The Consulate General of Serbia is sponsoring the film about a 10 year-old boy with cerebral palsy who imagines himself to be a superhero.
